Small Scratches on Wood Furniture: To hide small scratches on the surface of your furniture, dust with a soft cloth moistened with Lemon Furniture Oil. Oil will help camouflage minor surface scratches. For more noticeable scratches, use these coloring agents, rubbing in the direction of the wood grain:
Ebony -- black eyebrow pencil
Mahogany -- brown paste wax or dark brown crayon
Maple -- apply equal parts linseed oil and turpentine with a cotton swab, let dry and buff.
Teak -- lightly rub with very fine steel wool with the grain. Apply solution of equal parts linseed oil and turpentine.
Walnut -- break off a piece of fresh unsalted walnut or pecan nut meat and rub freshly exposed surface on furniture.
|
- Apply Lemon Furniture Oil to finished or sealed wood surface with clean, soft cloth.
- Remove any excess with clean, dry lint-free cloth. Buff, if necessary, to obtain uniform appearance.
Note: Use of conventional aerosol or non-aerosol furniture waxes with this product is not recommended as wax and oil aren't compatible. Use only the oil. It will also help remove wax buildup.
